John Wertz Miller

      KALONA-John Wertz Miller, 84, of Kalona, died Wednesday, March 28, 2007, in the Pleasantview Home in Kalona, following a long illness.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 2, in the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church in rural Kalona, with the Rev. Don Patterson and the Rev. Dick Swartzendruber officiating. Burial will be in the Lower Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Sunday at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona, where the family will greet friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to Water for Life and to the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church.

      Mr. Miller was born on Aug. 12, 1922, in Kalona, the son of Urie and Amanda (Wertz) Miller. He married Arlene Hochstetler on Oct. 4, 1944, in rural Kalona.
