John Wesley Hochstedler

      KALONA-John Wesley Hochstedler, 76, of Kalona, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, following a long illness, at his home.

      Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, at the Sunnyside Mennonite Church in Kalona, with the Rev. John King, the Rev. Floyd Helmuth, and the Rev. David L. Yoder officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona where the family will greet friends on Friday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday. A memorial fund has been established for the Sunnyside Mennonite Church and Water for Life.

      Mr. Hochstedler was born Nov. 24, 1930, near Kalona, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth (Otto) Hochstedler. He married Alice Gingerich on March 22, 1953, at the Fairview Mennonite Church near Kalona.
