John William Jarr, 72, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the Jefferson County Health Center.

There will be no services. Memorials may be made to the family and mailed to Wava Jarr, 402 South 2nd Street, Fairfield, IA 52556.

John was born June 23, 1949, in Muscatine to Lavern and Helen (Skipton) Jarr. He married Wava Lyndale Luko on November 18, 1969. This last year they celebrated 52 years of marriage.

John served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He and Wava have lived in Fairfield since 1978. John worked at Rockwell/Meritor as a machinist until they closed in Fairfield and then started working at MIU in security. Some of John's interests were reading, camping, fishing, boating, movies and doing woodworking.

John will be missed by his wife, Wava of Fairfield; daughter, Linda Jarr of Fairfield; three grandchildren, Wava L. Jarr, Brittany Ryan and Jacob McIntosh; two great-grandchildren; and sister, Diane Donald.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lavern and Helen; and daughter, Tina McIntosh-Harris.
