Jon Lowell Cook, 84, of Ft. Dodge died on Friday, April 19, 2024, in Burlington. A celebration of life will be held on May 18, 2024 from 1-4PM, at Manning Hall next to St. Alphonsus Church in Mt. Pleasant.

His family includes his wife of 64 years, Helen; five children, son Jon (Jennifer) Cook of Nampa, ID; daughter Jolene Rosebeck (Keven Arrowsmith) of Waukee, IA; daughter Joann Otten (deceased) of Peoria, IL; daughter Julie (John) White of Davenport, IA; son Jim (Katie) Cook of Johnston, IA; and fourteen grandchildren.

He is survived by his sister, Jane DeLa Hunt; sister, Joan Doster; and sister Judy O'Leary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Myrtle Cook; sister Jean Beer; brother Jim Cook; sister June Glaser; brother Jerry Cook; and brother Jack Cook.

Jon was born October 24, 1939, in Ft. Dodge, IA. He graduated in 1958 from St. Edmond Catholic School in Ft. Dodge and attended Wayne State College and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Education. He taught/coached at Pocahontas and Ashton for five years before moving to Mt. Pleasant. He taught/coached in the Mt. Pleasant school system for 32 years. Jon enjoyed running, researching family history, painting during the summer, and time spent with his family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jon's honor may be directed to the cross country teams at St. Edmond Catholic School, 2220 4th Avenue North, Ft. Dodge, IA 50501.
