Jordan Kruse

      Jordan Kruse, 22, of rural Houghton, died Saturday, April 15, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

      The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton, with the Rev. Gary Beckman officiating. Burial will be held in the St. John's Cemetery in Houghton. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to the Iowa Donor Network.

      Visitation will begin after noon on Tuesday, April 18, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where family will be present at 5 p.m. A prayer service will be held at the Memorial Chapel that evening at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Dr. Edward R. Peterson officiating.

      Jordan was born Dec. 6, 1983, in Mt. Pleasant, to Vic and Linda Zuehlke Kruse. He was a 2002 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School, and attended Kirkwood Community College for one year. He helped his father on the family farm and worked for Stonehenge Kennels in West Point. For the past year and a half he had been a professional dog breeder. He owned and operated J.N.K. Kennels, specializing in large breed dogs.
