Joseph A. Barker

      Joseph A. Barker, 86, of Chillicothe, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Mo.

      A memorial service, with Masonic rites, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua. Burial, with military rites, will follow the service at Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Fairfield.

      Family visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

      Memorials to American Legion Beer-Barker Post 113 of Keosauqua or Celestial Lodge No. 413 of Douds may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 7995 LIV237, Chillicothe, MO 64601.

      Mr. Barker was born Feb. 23, 1922, in Tolona, Mo., the son of Mernice and Nora Ellis Barker. He married Iona M. McCormick Aug. 15, 1947, in Fairfield. She died Aug. 26, 2004.
