Joseph B. Denning July 6, 1935 - September 20, 2005

Rev. Joseph "Jack" B. Denning, 70, of Davenport, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at his home.

      The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the St. John's Catholic Church in Houghton. Burial will be in the St. John's Church Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at the church, with a rosary at 3 p.m. and a wake service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Catholic School of the donor's choice. Link Funeral Home in West Point is in charge of local arrangements.

      Survivors include four sisters, Ruth Mertens of Burlington, Laverne and her husband Vernon Coffey of Fort Madison, Sr. Jane Denning OSF of Milwaukee, Wis., and Phyllis and her husband Paul Steffensmeier of Donnellson; a brother, and James and his wife Eileen Denning of Houghton.

      He was preceded in death by his parents.
