Joseph D. Rich

Joseph Dean Rich, 69, of Washington, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at the Washington County Hospital following a sudden illness.

      Celebration of life services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, at the Jones Eden Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Gentz officiating.

      Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today at the Jones Eden Funeral Home, where family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Masonic Lodge services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home conducted by Washington Masonic Lodge #26. Burial with military honors conducted by Washington American Legion Post 29 will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton.

      Born March 10, 1937, in Peoria, Ill., he was raised by his adoptive parents, Joseph and Alta Farrier Rich. He attended school in Brighton, and graduated from Brighton High School in 1955. On Jan. 1, 2002 he was united in marriage to Marlene Schropp in Polishville. He has lived in Washington since November of 2001, and formerly lived in Brighton and Pleasant Plain.
