Joseph Gabriel Seiter died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, in Iowa City.

Services for Joseph will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2021, at Jeb Park, 198 Broadway St., Batavia. Joseph was born March 9, 1971, in Iowa City to Joe Seiter Sr. and Nancy Cook.

He attended Maharishi School for the Age of Enlightenment and Washington High School in Cedar Rapids, graduating in 1989. He lived the majority of his adult life in Fairfield. He had an extensive musical background and was the lead guitarist in several local and regional bands. He also was a consummate gear head and often worked on guitars and amps, as well as small engines, cars and other complex mechanisms.

He is survived by his father, Joe Sr. of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Matthew Seiter of Des Moines, David Zisko of Princeville, HI and John Cope of Fairfield; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins and a solid core group of lifelong friends in Fairfield and throughout the United States. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Cook.
