Joseph Gleede Ricks

      Joseph Gleede Ricks, 91, of Wayland, died at 6:11 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa, following a brief illness.

      A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cottonwood United Methodist Church in Wayland, with the Rev. Linda Renken officiating. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery.

      Family visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.

      Memorials have been established for the Cottonwood Women's Group and Cottonwood Cemetery Association. Memorials may be left at the church or may be mailed to the family at 2734 Ginko Ave., Washington, IA 52353.

      Arrangements are in the care of Gould Funeral Home of Brighton.

      Mr. Ricks was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Coppock, the son of John and Selina Erhardt Ricks. He married Edith "June" Zickefoose Dec. 22, 1946. She died Nov. 11, 2003.
