Joseph Harry Leach
Joseph Harry Leach, 48, formerly of Mt. Union, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2000, at Mt. Vernon, Mo., where he has resided for the past three months.
The memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at Buchanan Chapel in Monett, Mo. The local graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Trinity Cemetery south of Mt. Union with the Rev. Bob Hary officiating. Memorials have been established for the Winfield-Mt. Union Big Red Pride Athletic Fund. Local arrangements are being made by the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.
Mr. Leach was born Jan. 30, 1952, in Burlington, the son of John Stanley and Betty Shank Leach. A 1970 graduate of Winfield-Mt. Union High School, he attended the University of Iowa. He worked as a construction millwright until he was forced to quit due to health problems. Survivors include a brother, John R. and Nancy Leach of Aurora, Mo.; a sister, Nancy Hardy of Mt. Vernon, Mo.; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
