Joseph "Joe" Steven Nelson, age 62, of Keosauqua, formerly of Fairfield, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020, at his home.

Graveside Celebration of Life service will be at a later date.

Joe was born September 7, 1958, in Iowa City, to John and JoAnn (Lundquist) Nelson Jr.

Joe was employed at Dexter Company from 1976 until his injury in 1997. He was an awesome base guitar player, playing in different bands. Joe loved all music and enjoyed watching Gunsmoke. He was a member and door greeter for FCOC in Fairfield. Joe loved the Lord.

Joe will be missed by his siblings, Joyce Calhoun of Batavia, James "Jim" Nelson of Fairfield, Janeen (Pete) Gardner of Belmond, Iowa, Jana Heckethorn and Jeffrey Nelson, both of Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and JoAnn; grandparents; sister-in-law, Cheryl Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.
