Joseph H. Kos, 84, of New Boston, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020, at University Hospital in Columbia, Mo.

Joe was born in Richmond, Iowa, on April 16, 1936, to Joseph V. and Myrtle E. (McCombs) Kos. He married Margaret Elaine Meyer on March 3, 1956.

Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and worked as a method setup engineer for John Deere. He was a member of the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Marceline, Mo., Marceline Eagles, Brookfield Elks, and former member of the Lions Club and VFW.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Efker and Chris of Marceline; two sons, Joseph Charles "Chuck" Kos and Laura of Oklahoma City, Okla., and James Orville (Jim) Kos and Barb of Martelle, Iowa; six grandchildren, Elias Kos, Sharlie Kos, Patrick Kos, Tandi and Brett Johnson, Kailey and Kevin Reichert and Kendra and Arandi Lopez; and one great-grandchild, Braiden Stephenson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine; and grandsonm Stephen.

He will be buried next to his wife Elaine this spring in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Richmond, Iowa. The family suggest memorials to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Fr. McCartan School Foundation, and these can be mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
