Josephine 'Jo' Hammond

COLUMBUS JUNCTION - Josephine "Jo" Hammond, 98, of Columbus Junction, died Sunday, June 29, 2008, in the Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.

      Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 3, in the Stacy-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Columbus Junction with the Rev. Scott Smith of the United Methodist church of Wapello officiating. Burial will be in Columbus City Cemetery. Following the committal service, there will be a time of food and fellowship at the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.

      Mrs. Hammond was born April 16, 1910, in rural Louisa County, the daughter of Frederick and Rhoda (Marion) Morrison. She married Max Hammond on Sept. 27, 1927 in Wapello.
