Judith Ann (Crosby Rodman) Klingler, age 86, of Iowa City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Oaknoll Retirement Residence in Iowa City.
Visitation was held from 10-11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Funeral services followed at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at Brick Church Cemetery in Walworth, Wisconsin.
Born on March 11, 1939, in Milton, Wisconsin, Judy was the daughter of Donald and Ann (Tande) Crosby. She attended Janesville High School, graduating in 1957, and continued her education at Carroll College and the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
On June 11, 1960, Judy married David Winfield Rodman at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Janesville, Wisconsin. Together they raised three children: David C., Douglas, and Christina. Over their 28 years of marriage, the family lived in Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, and Iowa, until David’s passing in 1988.
On July 3, 1992, Judy married George Samuel Klingler at Zion Lutheran Church in Iowa City. George brought a son, Keith, from his previous marriage. Judy and George shared 23 happy years together, residing in Iowa City, Arizona, and Williamsburg, Iowa, until George’s death in 2015.
Throughout her life, Judy balanced family responsibilities with a variety of interests and community involvement. She and Dave enjoyed entertaining, frequently hosting gatherings for JCPenney colleagues and friends. Judy was known for her compassionate listening ear and unwavering encouragement to those around her. With George, she delighted in antiquing, operating an antique store in Mount Vernon, and welcoming guests to their winter home in Green Valley, Arizona. In her later years, Judy took great joy in supporting her grandchildren’s activities and celebrating their accomplishments.
Judy is survived by her children: David C. (Kelly) Rodman of Lake Bluff, Illinois; Douglas (Marie) Rodman of Andover, Minnesota; Christina (Andrew) Axmear of North English, Iowa; and Keith (Maura Stevenson) Klingler of Upper Arlington, Ohio; her grandchildren: Jack (Nora) Rodman, Libby (Blake Matti) Rodman, Davis (Haley) Axmear, Anne (Dillon) Sanders, Charles Axmear, Raif Axmear, and Allison Klingler; as well as three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
