Judith K. Privia, 60, of 504 Kilbourn Avenue in Denmark died at 3:15 p.m. Friday, April 14, 2000, at her home.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Burial will be in Denmark Cemetery in Denmark. Friends may call anytime today, until the time of service Tuesday at the King-Lynk Funeral Home. A memorial has been established to the Diabetes Association or the Denmark Rescue Squad. Contributions may be left at the King-Lynk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Privia was born May 27, 1939, in Fairfield, the daughter of Guy and Edna Roberts Ritz. She married Alan R. Privia on Sept. 3, 1983 in Denmark. She lived in Denmark for the past five years. She was a homemaker and caregiver to her husband for many years. She was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. and the AARP. She attended the Denmark Congregational United Church of Christ. She loved to cross-stitch and work in her flower garden. She collected angels, embroidered, and loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of Denmark; one son, Lester Garrison of Rome; three daughters, Cindy Dowd of Ankeny, Melody "Lyn" Lett of Wilton and Sarina Russell of Fort Madison; four brothers, Don Ritz and Richard Davison, both of Mt. Pleasant, Dale Ritz of Bonaparte and Robert Ritz of Wayland; five sisters, Janice Holt of Lebanon, Mo., Martha Swanson of Goodman, Wis., Carol Bucher of Willow Springs, Mo., Patty Cornell of Belle Vista, Ark. and Lois Doyle of Conway, Mo.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son.
