JUDY RAYE MCBRIDE AUGUSTINE
Brighton
Judy Raye McBride Augustine, 74, of Brighton, died Thursday, October 29, 2020, at the Washington County Hospital in Washington. She was born May 4, 1946, in Washington to John Paul and Leona Mae Jones McBride. Judy grew up on a farm in rural Columbus Junction and attended school in Cotter and Columbus Junction. She graduated from DMAC in Des Moines and from the University of Iowa in Iowa City with a degree in Accounting. Judy married James Miller, Irvin Seering, Dick Duttlinger and Jerry Bennett and they were divorced. She married Gaylord Augustine who later died. She was an office worker most of her life, working for various companies including Moore Business Forms Credit Union, she was a West Chester City Councilman, was self employed in Just Right Cleaning, Augustine Excavating and Jud N Auggies Tap in Hills, and currently a member of the Brighton Chamber of Commerce and bookkeeper at Brighton Locker
Judy is survived by her life partner, William Donelson of Brighton, and his son, Ross Donelson (April) of Richland, and their three children; six children, Pearl M. Miller Lloyd of Ainsworth, Sue Ella Miller of Covington, GA, Joseph P. Miller (Marla) of Mediapolis, Bryan Deeter-Stine (John Deeter) of Brighton, Richard A. Duttlinger (Sue) of Great Bend, KS, and Gaylord Augustine Jr. (Robin) of Malvern, IA; 27 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ila Van Dyke of Cedar Rapids, Sarah Grell of Phoenix, AZ, Roxie Ann Burkett (Richard) of Riverside and Lucy Noel (Pat) of Hills; and two brothers, John Paul McBride (Donna) of Muscatine and Ronald McBride (Linda) of Anamosa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gaylord; one daughter, Tammy Augustine; and one brother, Dickie McBride.
A public visitation will be held at 2 to 3:30 P.M. Saturday November 7, 2020, at the Brighton First Church of God and a Celebration of Her Life will be held at a later date. Due to COVID-19 concerns, masks and social distancing is recommended for the visitation. Memorials for the Brighton Chamber of Commerce may be left at the church or mailed to Bill at P.O. Box 334, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is in charge of arrangements.
