Judy Schenk

Judy (Mrs. Larry) Schenk, 61, of Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at her home following a lengthy illness.

Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at the chapel, with the Rev. Mike Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery.

Born July 30, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, Judith Kay was the daughter of Paul and Margaret Stearns Iserman. She received her education in the Mt. Pleasant Schools. On June 28, 1963, Judy married Larry Schenk.  He survives.

A lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant, Judy worked in the maintenance department of Hearth and Home Technologies for over 25 years.  She retired when her health declined.  Judy was a member of the Open Bible Church. She enjoyed bird watching and loved flowers and plants.  She also had a large collection of bells.

Along with her husband Larry, Judy is survived by one son, Kevin (Terri) Schenk of Mt. Pleasant; one daughter, Robin (Raymond) Heitmeier of New London; and five grandchildren, Billy Schroeder, Ryan Schenk, Cody Heitmeier, Jayde Heitmeier, and Chloe Heitmeier. She is also survived by one brother, Randy Iserman of Ft. Madison, and one sister, Beverly Iserman of Davenport, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathy Huddleston.
