JULIA ANN MAKEPEACE TATE

Julia Ann Makepeace Tate passed away peacefully in
her sleep February 1, 2022, in Albuquerque, N.M. She was born February 11, 1937, the third daughter of Jesse and Faye Makepeace, long-time Fairfield residents. The "Makepeace Girls," Marilyn, Joy, Julie and Marti, all attended Fairfield High School. They were easily recognized for their striking family resemblance, black hair and green eyes; their participation in a multitude of activities at the Free Methodist Church and school; and their outstanding scholastic achievements. Julie graduated in the class of '55, an honor student. She then attended Wessington Springs Academy, S.D., eventually graduating from Weber State in Ogden, Utah, as a Registered Nurse.
Julie married Harold Tate of Quincy Illinois, in 1957. They had two daughters, Kathy, of Albuquerque N.M. and Amy Bostic (Rob), of Los Lunas, N.M.; one much beloved grandson, Christopher Harper (Melissa); and two great-granddaughters, Elenore and Valarie Harper, all of Clinton, Utah.
Julie loved watching movies, walking, baking, reading, staying in touch with her many nieces and nephews, and being a nurse. Cared for by her daughter, Kathy, Julies was in ill health the last few years of her life.
Julie was preceded in death by her young brother, Rodney; both parents, Jesse and Faye Makepeace; all her sisters, Marilyn Ewing, Joy Parrott and Marti Barton; nephews, Stephen Cary and David Ewing; and the love of her life, Harold Tate.
Also mourning the loss, are her loving nieces and nephews, Becky and Daniel Ewing, Randy, Gloria (Becker) and Cindy (Goodwin) Parrott, and Jessica and Rachael Cary.
Private services will be held at a later date.
