Junior F. Mathias

      Junior F. Mathias, 79, of rural Birmingham, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, 2008, at home.

      A funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua, with the Rev. Jerry Caughron officiating. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery, north of Douds.

      Open visitation began at 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7-8 p.m.

      Memorials to the family or American Cancer Society may be left at the funeral home or may be mailed to the family at 15232 Juniper Trail, Birmingham 52535.

      Mr. Mathias was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Martinez, Calif., the son of George and Bessie Ransom Mathias. He married Rowena Lagle Sept. 4, 1948, in Davenport.
