Junior Ford Pidgeon April 30, 1925 - May 31, 2003
Junior Ford Pidgeon, age 78, of Coralville died Saturday, May 31, 2003 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.
Mr. Pidgeon was born on April 30, 1925, in Grangeville, Idaho, the son of Charles and Uvena (Arnold) Pidgeon. He graduated from Salem High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII, in the South Pacific. On September 20, 1947, he married Alice Louise Turner in Columbus Junction, Iowa. Mr. Pidgeon worked for Northern Bell Telephone Company for many years until his retirement on December 30, 1982. He was a member of the Coralville Volunteer Fire Department, Coralville American Legion Walter Johnson Post #721, and Telephone Pioneers of America. Mr. Pidgeon enjoyed golf, gardening, woodworking, was an avid reader, but his first love was his family.
His family includes his wife Alice Pidgeon; sons, Gary Pidgeon of Tiffin, Iowa; Stevan Pidgeon and his wife Jann of Coralville; three grandchildren, Ryan, Sarah and Chelesea; six sisters, Elsie Craig of Salem, Alice Metsker of Montrose, Bertha Tvedt of Bryon, Minn., Clara Watts of Nampa, Idaho, June McEwen of Eugene, Ore., and Dorothy Zuber of Crawford, Texas.
