KAREN A. (FISCHER) WOODS

Fort Atkinson, Wis.

Karen A. (Fischer) Woods, 53, of Fort Atkinson, Wis., formerly of Washington, passed peacefully into Heaven on April 11, 2020, in Janesville, Wis. The daughter of Arthur and Anna Fischer, Karen was born Nov. 23, 1966, in Bremerhaven, Germany, and moved to the United States as a young child. Her family spent time out east before settling in Wisconsin, where she graduated from Kettle Moraine High School.

In 1988 she met and married the love of her life, Robert Woods in Wisconsin. Together they welcomed a daughter, Melissa in 1990, and a son, Robert in 1991. Karen had various jobs through the years, including managing apartment complexes, providing daycare, working at the Washington Junior High and in the Pamida Pharmacy; but she spent most of her adult life as a homemaker. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy, but she also enjoyed crochet, scrapbooking and connecting with friends and family across the country through social media.

Karen is survived by her husband, Robert Woods Sr,; daughter, Melissa Kauffman; son, Robert Woods Jr.; sister, Heidi Lauden; three granddaughters, Kylie, Isabella and Elizabeth, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bobbie Fischer.

Karen's family will love and miss her dearly, and cherish her memory always.
