Karen Lee Fulton, 83, of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Addington Place.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Behner Funeral Home, with a celebration of life is starting at 11:00 a.m. with Danny Cary officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed at Behner Funeral Home Crematory facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McElhinny Women’s Club or Hospice Compassus. Cards and memorials may be mailed to Larry Fulton, 2404 Marigold Blvd., Fairfield, IA 52556.

Karen was born October 14, 1939, in Fairfield, to Clarence and Helen (Lee) VanNess. She married Larry Lee Fulton August 29, 1957, in Fairfield. This year they celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Karen graduated from Fairfield High School in 1957. She worked in the office at Agri Plastic for 26 years. Karen belonged to the McElhinny Women’s Club and the Walton Club. She enjoyed cooking, spending time in her garden and followed Iowa Hawkeye basketball. Most important was spending time with family and looking into her family genealogy.

She will be missed by her husband, Larry Fulton of Fairfield; her children, Todd (Julie) Fulton of Keosauqua and Marcy Stearns of Omaha, NE; five grandchildren, Jennifer Fulton, Joe Stearns, Kate Stearns, Mitchell Fulton and Lindsay Belluomo; five great-grandchildren; three siblings, Ron (Nancy) Van Ness, Don (Susan) VanNess and Judy Thomas; and nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Helen; daughter, Amy Renee Bausk; brother-in-law, Clyde Thomas; and nephew, Marlin Fulton.
