Karen Louise

KALONA ? Karen Louise, 73, of Iowa City died Saturday, June 25, 2016, in the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 29, at the Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, at the Yoder-Powell Funeral Home in Kalona.

Mrs. Louise was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Washington, the daughter of Everette and Marguerite (Kleinschmidt) Plecker.

She graduated from Mid-Prairie High School. She worked for the United States Government and the Veterans Affairs Hospital for 30 years. She enjoyed reading and working on crossword puzzles.

Surviving are four daughters, Pamela Willis of Dalton, Georgia, Philina Abbot of San Ramon, California, Becky McDermott of Carthage, Illinois, and Ferne Watt of Shingletown, California; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Millice of Wellman, and Phyllis Martin of Wellman; and one brother, Larry Plecker of Kalona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one son, Daniel.
