BRIGHTON ? Karen K. Scarff, 71, of Brighton, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2016, in Halcyon House in Washington.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 18, at the Brighton First Church of God with the Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m., Friday at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Visitation will be held Thursday afternoon at Gould Funeral Home in Brighton, where the family will be present from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Memorials for Hospice of Washington County or the First Church of God may be left at the funeral home or the church, or mailed to the family at 617 S. Third Street, Washington, IA 52353.
Mrs. Scarff was born Aug. 23, 1945, in Osgood, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond Keith and Violet Virginia (Meeker) Jones. She married Ronnie G. Ikerd. The couple later divorced. She married Robert A. Fisher. The couple later divorced.
She was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1963. Later, she graduated from Capri Cosmetology College in Fairfield. She moved to Brighton in 1975 and later opened Brighton Hair Affair, which she operated until her health began to fail. She was the activities director at the All American Care Center in Washington for three years. She enjoyed shopping, camping, fishing, and camping at the Iowa State Fair. She was a member of the First Church of God and had been a Cub Scout leader.
Surviving are two sons, Ronnie Ikerd of Knoxville, and Curt Ikerd and wife Cokie of Brighton; two daughters, Bobbi Sue Higdon of Washington, and Holly Fisher of Pella; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant sister, Sharon.
