Katherine C. 'Kay' Stewart

      Katherine C. "Kay" Stewart, 87, of Washington, died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005, at Washington County Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

      Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, at United Presbyterian Church in Washington, with the Rev. Kitch Shatzer officiating. Private family burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington. Visitation will begin at noon, Thursday at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the family present from 7 to 8:30, Thursday evening. A memorial has been established for United Presbyterian Church in Washington.

      Mrs. Stewart was born Aug. 24, 1918, in San Diego, Calif., to Axel and Elin (Sunquist) Anderson. She and her twin sister, Ellen, were adopted at the age of 3 months and raised by Ernest and Ellen (Coleman) Collins. She married William S. Stewart of Washington on June 17, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1966.
