Katherine “Kay” L. Piscia, 80, of Milford, MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 5, 2022, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Katherine was born in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, on August 30, 1942, the daughter of Donald Jennings Sr. and Pauline (Charbonneaux) Jennings. She spent her childhood on her family’s dairy farm. Katherine graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1960 after which she enlisted in the Navy WAVES, she was a journalist and in 1961 participated in the inaugural parade for President John F. Kennedy.
Katherine met and married Angelo Terrizzi Sr. in 1961 while in the Navy, had their six children and settled in Billerica, MA. She went on to open her own business, A & K Ceramics in Somerville, MA. The couple later divorced.
Katherine met and married her husband of 35 years Paul H. Piscia in 1987, while working as an administrative assistant at New England Nuclear Corp. for 10 years. She then left there to continue her passion of owning her own business, Carousel Crafts in Billerica, MA. In 1995 her and Paul moved to Milford, MA, where she worked at Joann Fabrics and Craft until her retirement.
Katherine was strong, creative, full of life and adventure. She had numerous interests including playing the piano, crafting, cooking and baking, fishing, gardening and attending stock car races. Katherine was a dog lover and had many Yorkies over the years. What brought her the most joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren that she loved dearly and always believed was a precious gift from God.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Paul H. Piscia of Milford, MA; her six children and their spouses, Mary Terrizzi and husband Scott Bricher of Kent, CT, Angelo Terrizzi Jr. and his husband Michael Norris of Wilton Mannors, Fl, Margaret (Terrizzi) Winn and her husband David of Sandown, NH, Rocco Terrizzi and his wife Christina of Nashua, NH, Joseph Terrizzi and his wife Tracy of Winter Haven FL, and Carmela (Terrizzi) Enright and her husband Keith of Boynton Beach, FL; her siblings, Peggy Jennings of Ela, NC, Donald Jennings Jr. of Iowa, Denise (Jennings) Archer of Mt. Pleasant, IA; 12 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gary Jennings of Odessa TX.
She will be fondly remembered, loved and cherished by her husband, children, grandchildren and those lives she touched over the past 80 years.
A celebration of Katherine’s life will be held in Milford, MA on December 3, 2022.
