Kathleen Mae Horras, age 89, of Fairfield, formerly of Richland, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at the Jefferson County Health Center.

Private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date at Richland Friends Cemetery.

Kathleen was born May 13, 1931, to Harold and Hildred (Brown) Bray. She married Robert LeRoy Horras on April 6, 1950, in Rock Island, IL. They celebrated 64 years of marriage before he passed away on March 19, 2015.

Kathleen was a CNA at Jefferson County Hospital and Morris, Illinois Hospital. She loved quilting and sewing. Kathleen also enjoyed going to gospel concerts and motorcycle riding. She loved and cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Kathleen will be missed by her six children that she loved dearly, Linda (Joe) Leu of Iowa City, IA, Wayne (Sylvia) Horras of Hedrick, IA, Richard Horras of Glenwood, IA, Brenda Horras of Glenwood, IA, Cathy (Kraig) Deutsch of Packwood, IA, and Angeline (Matt) Gockel of Waverly, IA; 11 grandchildren, Dustin (Carly) Horras, Heather (Mike) Link, Heidi (Ben) Fincham, Brandi (Steven) Baker, Brooke Horras (James Webb), MacKenzie (Jarod) Strouf, Tyler (Chieko) Horras, Trenton Mathias, Hana Horras, Monica (Andrew) Steckel and Erica (Rox) Simmons; 17 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Betty Jean Kessler of Fairfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Hildred Bray-Emry; stepmother, Luella Bray; husband, Robert; and son, Jay Horras.
