Kathryn M. Pratt, 91, of Agency, died June 24, 2019 at

Hospice House in Ottumwa.

She was born January 29, 1928 in South English, IA to Abraham and Louise "Lucy" Eash Zehr. She married Harold Elder Sr. on July 3, 1947 and they later divorced. She married Theodore Pratt Sr. on June 20, 1956 and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1969.

A 1947 graduate of Keota High School, she earned a degree from Iowa City Commercial College. She moved from Washington, IA to Ottumwa in 1976.

She had worked as an accountant for the University of Iowa Athletic Club, managed several restaurants in the Iowa City area, had worked for Lowenberg Bakery and John Deere Ottumwa Works.

Kathryn was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Ottumwa and a member of Toastmasters.

She pursued many passions including baking award winning pies, gardening and playing cards. Kathryn loved spending time with family especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her children, Steve (Reva) Elder of Lone Tree, IA, Theodore Pratt II of Chicago, IL, Cynthia (Wes) VanAntwerp of Agency and Scott (Lori) Pratt of Waverly, GA; 12 grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Jon Elder, Harold Elder and Daniel Pratt; six brothers, Austin, Lawrence, Wayne, Cecil, Stanley and Eugene Zehr.

Her body has been cremated.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor Nancy Reed officiating. Private inurnment will be in Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, IA.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church Friday.

Memorials may be made to Hospice House in Ottumwa.
