Keith Allen Blair, 81, died January 6, 2025. He was born January 19, 1943, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Ira A. and Letha Mae Dolly Blair. He graduated from Sigourney High School in 1961. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Grand Fork Air Force Base in North Dakota, as an aircraft mechanic. On June 18, 1966, he married Elaine Roop at the Ollie Baptist Church. Keith was employed at the Keokuk County Home, helping with the residents and overseeing the care of the animals and crops. Keith later was employed at Ottumwa Brick and Tile, Hormel and at the University Hospital and retired in 2005. Later he became the director of Keokuk County Veterans Office for 16 years. He was a member of the Prairie View Church, Richland Legion, former member of Keokuk County Expo Board, Hedrick Fire Department, Hedrick City Council, Hedrick School Board, and a Commissioner of Keokuk County.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, and his children Dawn Burtlow and Ira Blair.
He is survived by his wife Elaine, three grandchildren, Blair (Phillip) Edwards of Ottumwa, Lucas (Adreana) Blair of Mt. Pleasant, Taylor Blair of Clinton, six great-grandchildren Keith Blair, Savannah Travis, Maggie Edwards, TaLeah Garrett, Tiahna Garrett and Journey Harris. Three sisters-in-law, Marty Fritchen, Barb Peterson and Julie Bailey, and many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements Holm Funeral Home - Sigourney, Iowa.
Visitation: Friday January 10, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Prairie View Church - Ollie.
Memorial Service: Saturday January 11, 2025 10:30 a.m. Prairie View Church – Ollie.
Burial: Memorial Lawn Cemetery – Ottumwa.
