Keith Brimhall
Keith Brimhall, 84, of Mt. Pleasant, died at 9:05 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mt. Pleasant.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Carl Klein and the Rev. Kiboko I. Kiboko officiating. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. There will be no family visitation. Burial will be in the Finley Cemetery with full military rites by V.F.W. Post #2561 and American Legion Post #58. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the World War II Veterans Memorial and Missions.
Mr. Brimhall was born July 26, 1916, near Washington, the son of Horace Elmore and Edna Hogue Brimhall. He married Veva L. Krieger on June 1, 1946, in Winfield. A graduate of Danville High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1941 for World War II. He served in the United States and overseas for five years during the European campaign where he earned the Bronze Star. He then worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown and farmed 43 years northwest of Trenton, retiring in 1987 and moving to Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of Finley United Methodist Church where he held many offices, and a member of V.F.W. Post #2561 and American Legion Post #58.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Steven and Karen Brimhall of Mt. Pleasant and Kenneth and Adela Brimhall of San Juan, Texas; a daughter, Marjorie and Tom Roth of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Thelma Kelley of Danville; seven granddaughters and two great-granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rex, Leland and Frank Brimhall; and two sisters, Gertrude Warth and Amelia Jones.
