Keith Dale Watson, 85, of Stockport, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

Visitation for family and friends will be 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Behner Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to Morris Park in Stockport and can be mailed to Linda Watson, 31525 110th Street, Stockport, IA 52651.

Keith was born December 21, 1937, in Stockport, to Kenneth and Kathleen (Douglas) Watson. He served in the U.S. Army and while overseas he married Sieglinde “Linda” Seitz on October 1, 1959, in Bernau, Germany, and after serving three years in the Army, they moved back to the family farm in the U.S. This last year they celebrated 63 years of marriage.

Keith worked in different county quarries and later 36 years for the DOT working on the asphalt roads and tested it. He also farmed. Keith loved being outside farming, hunting, fishing and working in his garden. Most important was spending time with his family and friends. He dearly loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was a care giver for the Morris Park, which had a lot of family heritage. Keith was a guide for bus tours, school tours, scenic Drive and Fall Festival of Van Buren Counties explaining farming equipment.

He will be missed by his wife, Linda Watson of Stockport; his two children, Anita Hudson of Boone, IA, and Clinton Watson of Stockport; two grandsons, Spencer (Danielle) Hudson and Parker Hudson, both of Boone; four great-grandchildren; his two sisters, Dorothy (Roy) Gilbert and Cheriel Fleig, both of Stockport; and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Kathleen; and brother, Leslie Watson.
