Keith Garretson

Keith Garretson, 77, Mt. Pleasant, died at 6:50 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, while under hospice care following an 18-month battle with lymphoma.

      The family held a small private service in Salem and will announce a gathering to celebrate his life at the Garretson A-frame on the Garretson farm at a later date.

Survivors included his wife; a son, Kim Garretson, Minneapolis, Minn.; two daughters, Terri Bruch, Chicago, Ill. and DeeAnn Garretson, Cincinnati, Ohio; six grandchildren; a sister, Doris Garretson, Mt. Pleasant; and stepchildren, Brian Smith, Cedar Rapids, Darla Smith, Palm Beach, Fla.; and two step-grandchildren.

      He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Wendell, Wayne and Loren; and a sister, Wilma.
