Keith R. McAllister

Keith R. McAllister, 80, of Mt. Union, died Friday morning, Aug. 6, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

      The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10 at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Mike Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow at the Trinity Cemetery. Visitation will begin at noon today until 8 p.m. at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, with family present from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Mt. Union United Methodist Church, Mt. Union Fire Department and the Mt. Union Playground Project.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Kenneth and his wife Wanda McAllister, Tim and his wife Cindy McAllister, and Travis McAllister, all of Mt. Union; a daughter, Pamela and her husband Dave Smith of West Burlington; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Roger McAllister of Mt. Union, and a stepbrother, Wilbur Garrels of North Carolina.

      He was preceded in death by his parents.
