Kenneth Crone, 83, of Washington, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Halcyon House in Washington, Iowa.

Ken was born Sept. 22, 1936, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Douglas and Jessie (Hoover) Crone. He graduated from West Chester High School in 1955. Ken was married to Sharon Blankenhorn. They later divorced. He married Mary Schwab and they were divorced. Ken served honorably in the United States Army for eight years, serving in Germany and Korea. He worked in a dental clinic as a noncommissioned officer while in Korea.

Ken was a foreman and process engineer for 31 years at Sheller Globe and United Technologies in Iowa City. Following his retirement, Ken moved to Pine River, Minn. He enjoyed working with horses and traveling to Montana, Wyoming, Nebraska and the Badlands to go horseback riding.

He is survived by two sons, Randy Crone of Bozeman, Mont., and Dave Crone and wife Terri of Washington, Iowa; two grandchildren, Laramie Crone and wife Shannon, and Mariah Crone and fiance Sam Johnson; brother, Doug Crone of Washington, Iowa; sister, Karma Hanson and husband Roger of Iowa City, Iowa; brother, Allen Crone of Olathe, Kan.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Karen Kleese and Kathleen Anderson; and brothers, Keith Crone and Jerry Crone.
