Kenneth ?Kenny? Dwain Koch, 63, of Wayland, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, in the Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 13, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow at the Wayland Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5 to 8 p.m. A general memorial fund has been established.
Mr. Koch was born March 26, 1953, in Sigourney, the son of James Harold and Donna Louise (Bradley) Koch. He married Barbara Bishop on May 31, 1986, in What Cheer.
He attended Tri County High School. He worked as an ink technician at McKay Envelopes in Mount Pleasant. He enjoyed playing pool, dragon boat racing, hunting, fishing, bowling, riding his motorcycle, and watching NASCAR, wrestling and the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Surviving are his wife, Barb, of Wayland; four children, Ruth Gomes and husband Bill of Brighton, Curtis Gomes and wife Amanda of Des Moines, Kenneth Koch of Mount Pleasant, and Angela Koch of Wayland; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five siblings, Rick Koch and wife Kim of Deep River, Vicky Hartwig of What Cheer, Sandy Clark and husband Roger of Oskaloosa, Patricia Hadsell and husband Gary of Tracy, and Harold Koch Jr. of Mount Pleasant; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother, Harold Allen Koch; and one niece.
