Kenneth L. Marple March 21, 1918 - March 1, 2004

Col. Ret. Kenneth Lowry Marple, 85, of Rockledge, Fla., died on Monday, March 1, 2004, at Wuesthoff Hospital in Rockledge.

      The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 8 at Elliott Chapel in New London, with the Rev. Sue Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery in Farmington with military rites conducted by the Henry County Honor Guard. Visitation will be after noon on Sunday, March 7 at the chapel with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Henry County Honor Guard, representing all veterans of the United States Armed Services.

      Survivors include three sons, Gary A. Marple of Boxborough, Mass., Kenneth J. Marple of Lancaster, Pa., and John L. Marple of BelAir, Md.; a daughter, Virginia L. Strickler of East Fultonham, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Marple Marcus of Carlsbad, Calif.

      In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents.
