Kenneth  L. Miller

WELLMAN ? Kenneth  L. Miller, 68, of Wellman, died Monday, Nov. 17, 2014, at his home.

Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 20, at the First Baptist Church in Wellman with the Rev. Mark Larson officiating. Burial will be in the Upper Deer Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday at the Powell Funeral Home in Wellman. A memorial has been established for the First Baptist Church, Wellman Fire Department and Wellman First Responders.

Mr. Miller was born Jan. 15, 1946, in Washington, the son of Lester Joseph and Katie Ann (Kauffman) Miller.

He graduated from Iowa Mennonite School in 1963. He had lived in the Wellman community all of his life, where he farmed for 15 years and was a realtor for 25 years. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and watching baseball and basketball. He was a former  member of the Lions and of Rotary Club.

Surviving are one daughter, Lori Owens and husband Tracy of Wellman; two grandsons; two brothers, Duane Miller and wife Sharon of Harrisonburg, Va., and Calvin Miller and wife Jean of Abingdon, Va.; four sisters,  Marietta Fowler and husband Denny of Hillsdale, Mich., Elvesta Hochstedler and husband Loran of Kalona, Rita Miller and husband Ellis of Apple Creek, Ohio, and Ruth Beachy and husband Craig of Plain City, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother-in-law, Jim Yoder.
