Kent Jay Kreiss, 55, of West Burlington, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Kent was born on June 6, 1970, in Fairfield, IA, and was the son of Gary Lee and Vivian Leona Westercamp Kreiss. On May 21, 1994, he married Kerry Lynn Levins in Miami, FL.

Kent was a 1989 graduate of Fairfield High School and later earned an Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice from Southeastern Community College.

He dedicated 31 years of service as a contractor sales associate at Menards.

Kent was known for his sense of humor, quick wit, and love of joking with those closest to him, as well as his kind and helpful nature. He enjoyed watching sports, having a beer and tinkering; there was nothing he couldn't fix. But most of all, Kent loved spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Kerry Kreiss of West Burlington; three children, Jayla Kreiss, Makaela Kreiss and Tyas Kreiss all of West Burlington; favorite grandson, Jayton Kreiss of West Burlington; five siblings, Paul (Jo) Kreiss of Germantown, MD, Brad (Diana) Kreiss of Ainsworth, IA, Dale (Cheryl) Kreiss of Toledo, IA, Troy (Michele) Kreiss of Birmingham, IA, and Lori (Eric) Freese of Lone Tree, IA; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Elsie and John Westercamp; paternal grandparents, Edith and Joe Kreiss; uncles, Hubert, Charles, LaVerne, and Max Westercamp, and Arlo Kreiss; and aunts, Joyce Keller, Lana Boughner, Linda Brill, and JoAnn Wiley.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

Visitation will be from noon until 6:00 PM with the family to receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Monday, February 16, 2026 at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street.

The memorial service for Mr. Kreiss will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Prugh Funeral Service, 3940 Division Street. A private burial will be in Green Glade Cemetery at a later date.

Don't forget, Kent would always say, "You have time for one more."
