Kevin E. Schooley

BRIGHTON ? Kevin Eugene Schooley, 53, of Washington, died Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at his home following a brief battle with cancer.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 22, at Camander?s in Brighton following 1 p.m. graveside services at Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Rick Hughes officiating. The family requests memorials for his son, Keenan, which can be brought to either service or mailed to the family: Connie Shelangoski, P.O. Box 58, Brighton, IA 52540. Gould Funeral Home of Brighton is assisting the family.

Mr. Schooley was born Aug. 24, 1963, in Washington, the son of Sidney E. Schooley and Connie S. (Smith) Shelangoski.

He graduated from Washington High School in 1982 and most recently worked at Goodwill Industries of the Heartland in Washington. He enjoyed fishing, sports, bowling and family time.

Surviving are one son, Keenan L. Schooley of Keota; his mother, Connie Shelangoski and husband Paul of Brighton; two sisters, Tricia Jones and husband Phil of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Toni Sandell of Washington; and three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father; and one sister, Cynthia L. Fritz.
