Korene Ethel Wirtz

      WELLMAN - Korene Ethel Wirtz, 91, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehab Center in Clinton, following a lengthy illness.

      A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Powell Funeral Home in Wellman, with the Rev. Rich Pippert officiating. Burial will be in Wellman Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the English River Church of the Brethren, Clinton Hospice and Eagle Point Nursing and Rehab.

      Mrs. Wirtz was born Nov. 9, 1913, in LaPorte City, to August and Irene (Anton) Stahnke. On June 10, 1964, she married Dr. Robert Wirtz in Cedar Rapids.
