Kurt E. Kuckes, 75, of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020, at his home.

Kurt Edward Kuckes was born April 12, 1945, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Edward and Gertrude (Knapt) Kuckes. He served in the United States Marines. Kurt was united in marriage to Holly Hintz in 1966. He lived in Milwaukee where he worked as a police officer for the Milwaukee Railroad. Kurt moved to Mt. Pleasant and then Delaware, where he worked for the prison systems. He moved back to Mt. Pleasant to be with his family. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Kurt loved watching old movies and telling stories.

Kurt is survived by a son, Rich (Christine) Kuckes of Mount Pleasant; a daughter, Sue Kuckes of Wilmington, Delaware; 3 grandchildren, Madeline of Wilmington, Delaware, Rachel of Moline, IL, and Samuel (fiancee Emily) of Mt. Pleasant; and 2 sisters, Becky Kuckes (partner Kevin) and Kathy (Lee) Wickshamer of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Holly Kuckes.
