L. Pauline "Polly" Morse, 86, of Winfield, died Thursday Oct. 18, at the Colonial Manor Care Center in Columbus Junction.
The family will hold visitation from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield. A general memorial has been established in her name.
The funeral service will be held Monday Oct. 22, at 10:30 a.m. at the Winfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nancy Bender officiating. Interment will follow at the Columbus City Cemetery.
She was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Concord Township in Louisa County, the daughter of Vernon and Lois Dallmeyer Lowe. On Sept. 4, 1941, she married Rex Morse in Kahoka, Mo.
Having attended Sandy Grove country school near Letts, she was a retired farm wife and worked in later years cleaning for the Farmers National Bank in Winfield and the Winfield Post Office. She was a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church, the UMW, Jolly Neighbors Club, and the Cotter County Line Club. She loved sewing, gardening, and her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Elaine and Bill Baker of Columbus Junction; Janet and Bill Hightower of Burlington; one son, Robert and Cindy Morse of Winfield; one sister, Ardis Rick of Muscatine; 8 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
Her parents, husband, infant son, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
