Lana Sue Heckethorn

Lana Sue Heckethorn, 55, of Stockport, Iowa lost her battle with liver cancer on Tuesday morning, January 17, 2006 in her home surrounded by her family.

      Lana was born on July 29, 1950 in Yakima, Washington to Remmel and Ruby Dockins.

      When she was five she and her family moved to the Gassville, Arkansas area where she graduated in 1968 from Cotter High School.

      On March 27, 1970 Lana married Joe Heckethorn in Mountain Home, Arkansas moving to Van Buren County, Iowa where they have resided on their farm for the past 35 years.

A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Stockport Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Renken officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery.

      A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19th from 6-7 p.m. at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, IA. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established. Cards and memorials may be sent to 29349 - 115th St., Stockport, Iowa 52651.
