Lane William Jarvis was born August 26, 1944, in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Carl and Veramelia (Stout) Jarvis.

Lane graduated from Washington Iowa High School in 1964. He joined the U.S. Army and served from 1964 to 1966. He was proud to have served his country.

Lane married Donna (Alley) Jarvis on March 23, 1968.

He worked for and retired from Quest Telephone Company from 1970 to 2005. Lane also farmed in Decorah, Iowa, from 1972 to 1985. The couple moved to Pleasantville, Iowa, in 1985.

In his spare time, Lane enjoyed farming, coon hunting, working in his shop and spending time with his family.

Lane passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022, at MercyOne, in Des Moines, Iowa, at the age of 78 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Veramelia Jarvis; two brothers, Taylor and Noel Jarvis; and sister-in-law, Kathy Bare.

Lane is survived by his wife, Donna, of 54 years; son, Timothy Jarvis; daughter, Leann (Jeremy) McCormick of Pleasantville; brother, Jon (Lynda) Jarvis of Chino Valley, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Claudia (Taylor) Jarvis of Orangevale, California, and Judy (Ed) Jansson of Canton, Georgia; grandchildren, Blake McCormick and Madison (Joel) Roberts; nephews, Rob Jarvis and Jason Jarvis; nieces, Jennifer (Bud) McMahon and Jill (Jason) Stacey; and many other family members and friends.

A Graveside Funeral Service for Lane Jarvis, 78, of Pleasantville, will be held Monday, October 3, 2022, at Ruckman Cemetery at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Pleasantville.
