Lani Glass
Richland
Lani Glass, 66, of Richland, passed away on April 30, 2023, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born to Bob and Marilyn (Pruden) Glass on March 8, 1957 in Fairfield, IA.
Lani graduated from Fairfield High School, as a member of the Class of 1975. Following graduation from high school, she attended The University of Iowa before returning to Fairfield to get married and start a family. She worked in and around the Richland and Fairfield areas throughout her adult life, including owning the Country Kitchen convenience store in Richland, and working at the senior center, and Jefferson County Health Center in Fairfield for many years. An avid supporter of her children, she rarely missed a sporting event or school activity at Pekin Community School District. She was involved with the Richland Public Library board, and books were one of her all-time favorite pastimes. She loved her family and friends deeply, and always found joy in giving herself in service to others.
In addition to her father, Bob Glass, Lani was preceded in death by her first-born son Bryce Burns, her grandson Atticus Burns, and her brother David Glass.
Lani is survived by her sons Seth Burns (April) of Tulsa, OK and Jared Burns (Shana) of Philadelphia, PA; daughter Alexi Downey (Richard) of Cleveland, GA; two brothers, Bob Glass (Dale) of Libertyville and Dan Glass (Deb) of North Liberty; her mom Marilyn (Pruden) Glass of Fairfield; and six grandchildren, Kennedy, Ellison, Easton, Annika, Ophelia and Bryce.
A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date.
Those who wish to remember Lani in a special way may donate a book to the Richland Public Library in memory of her.
