Larry Allen Barnes, 76, of Washington, IA, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. Celebration of life services will be held Monday, December 10, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow at Hope Lutheran Cemetary near Germanville. Visitation will be held Monday, December 10 from 9-11:00 AM. A general memorial has been established.

Larry was born October 21, 1942 in Moline, IL to Jessie (Rich) Miller and Step-Father Raymond Miller. He was united in marriage to Mercedita Ouiambao on January 17, 1990. Larry worked as a janitor for the Washington school system and also worked at Simpson and Securitas Security. In his free time he enjoyed reading, watching western movies, gas lanterns, trains, airplanes, and volenteering at the Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleaseant. Larry's proudest achievement in life was raising his two daughters. They kept him going in his older age.

Larry is survived by his wife Mercedita, daughters Marykaye (Cedar Falls) and Stephanie Barnes (Cedar Rapids).

He was preceeded in death by his parents.
