Larry Dean Baldosier, 78, of Mt. Pleasant, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, from complications from the covid virus.
Larry was born on September 13, 1942, the son of Carl F. and Leona (Nelson) Baldosier. He lived on the family farm north of Lockridge until July of 2014, when he moved to Mt. Pleasant. He was united in marriage to Nancy Brooks of Ottumwa, Iowa on August 7, 1971. They had two children, Brian Carl and Brandi Rae.
Larry graduated from Fairfield High School in 1961. He served his country in the United States Navy for 6 years. Larry worked at Rockwell in Fairfield for 33 years. After his retirement, he drove a 10-15 Transit Bus in Jefferson County. He had thought this would be for a short time but 9 years later he retired. Larry was a Hospice Volunteer for 13 years for the Henry County Office. Larry was always busy; he enjoyed woodworking and shared many projects with family and friends. He enjoyed good conversation and good food. Traveling was always something he enjoyed, whether in the states or overseas; he traveled to many countries in Europe.
Larry is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 49 years; his childrenm Brian (Denise) Baldosier of rural Brighton, Iowam and Brandi (Troy) Gobeli of Mason City, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Shelby and Anna Baldosier, Cree, Cheyanne, Caleb and Carly Gobeli; his stepmother, Darlene Baldosier of Fairfield; and his half-sisters, Stephany (Scott) Harward of Fairfield, Connie (Matt) Martin of Woodland Park, CO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Chaplain Gordon Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Lockridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will not be present. Memorials may be directed to the Green Mound Church of God or to Every Step Hospice the Mt. Pleasant office in his memory. Those attending the service are asked to wear a mask.
