Larry Dee Hough, age 85, of Washington, Iowa, passed away Monday, June 17, 2024, at the Halcyon House in Washington.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024, at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Zickefoose officiating. Calling hours will begin 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 21 at the Jones & Eden Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 Friday evening. Interment with military honors will take place at the West Chester Cemetery in West Chester, Iowa. Memorials have been established for Hospice of Washington County. Larry was born April 27, 1939, in Washington, Iowa, the son of John S. and Retha M. (Robertson) Hough. He graduated from West Chester High School in 1957. Larry was united in marriage to Judith A. Curl on August 10, 1974, in Washington.

Larry worked on the Survey Crew for the Washington County Roads Department before entering the United States Air Force. He served honorably from September of 1961 until March of 1967. Upon his honorable discharge from the Air Force, Larry returned to West Chester and worked for Farm Service in Washington, Iowa. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and watching Western shows. He bowled on a men’s bowling league for many years. Larry volunteered for Washington County 4-H for over 20 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Ann (Gail Paschall) Lockard of Houston, Texas; son, Tyler (Kelley) Hough of Washington, Iowa; three grandchildren: Kenny Lockard, Sawyer Hough and Landon Hough; brother, Jay Lynn (Carol) Hough of West Chester, Iowa; brother, Robert Ray Hough of West Chester, Iowa; and his nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife Judi in 1999.
