Larry John Dellamuth was born July 19, 1944, in Marengo, Iowa, the son of Mervin & Elsie (Rotter) Dellamuth. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1962 and attended the Academy of Automation. On September 2, 1967, Larry was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Schaefer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. He worked for the University of Iowa Computer Center until 1976, when he started farming. In the 1980's he continued to farm while working as a rural mail carrier. Larry and Pat were Airstream Club members for nearly 20 years and enjoyed wintering in Florida. He was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg, loved watching Hawkeye sports and playing sheepshead with his friends. Larry died on Monday, November 24, 2025, at the Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg, at the age of 81 years.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Dellamuth; three children Mike (Sandy) Dellamuth, David (Joi) Dellamuth and Michelle (Mike) Piersol all of Williamsburg; grandchildren Brianna & Seth Dellamuth, Brooke & Ryan Van Meter and Hannah & Andrew Piersol; and two foreign exchange students, Marianela Arroyo Uder of Costa Rica and Rev. Leopoldo Sanchez of St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Lucille Meskimen and Luella Morse; and a brother Glen Dellamuth.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will follow in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 9:30 am until service time at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Larry’s honor.
